Fund regulatory case study
WPL provided assistance coordinating the AIFM and the AIF’s establishment, in particular:
- advising on the appropriate type of corporate vehicle for the AIFM and the AIF and preparing the required incorporation documents;
- drafting the required internal documentation of the AIFM and the AIF (including Investment Policy; Data Protection Rules; Prevention of Money Laundering Rules;
- documentation relating to decision-making, etc.).
WPL further advised the applicant on their authorisation application to the FSC.
The approval granted by the FSC allows for the Alternative Investment Fund Manager to manage the AIF and allows the AIF to operate.
Now authorised, WPL’s client is one of 20 Alternative Investment Fund Managers authorised in Bulgaria, a member state of the EU. As Bulgaria’s financial services and asset management sector experiences rapid growth, WPL is well-placed to support the industry’s ascent.
